SELF INITIATED PROJECT

I started Juvenile in 2018 when I became frustrated with the fact that most local galleries and creative platforms only showcase the work of the same select few, already established, artists.
I felt that the industry didn’t do enough to support emerging local creatives so I decided to take the matter into my own hands by starting Juvenile Zine. Juvenile is a platform for young and emerging South African artists that aims to help them break into the industry.

Juvenile quickly evolved into a large scale annual ‘creative event’ that features a zine release, an exhibition, live music performances, merchandise sales, thrift stores and film screenings that all showcase emerging local talent.
